Form 1545 recently released by The Department of Home Affairs
The Department of Home Affairs’ recently released Form 1545, following the 20-July announcement on visa changes to “ensure international students are not worse off due to the coronavirus pandemic and that Australia remains competitive with other countries”.
The form is to be used by students for one of two purposes:
They are applying for a new student visa because they are unable to complete their studies within the validity of their original visa and they are seeking a fee waiver on the visa application charge.
They are applying for a post-study visa and are seeking to have their online studies offshore resulting from covid-19 travel restrictions count towards the Australian Study
The form cannot be filled by the students themselves, but rather must be completed and signed by the institution in support of a covid-19 impacted student. If you are affected by COVID-19 direct all Form 1545 related queries to your institution.
